NHS referrals, answered.
How do I get referred?
Book an appointment with your GP, explain your foot problem and ask to be referred specifically to Mr Metcalfe at Spire Parkway Hospital. Your GP will submit an electronic referral under the NHS "Choose & Book" system.
What if I don't live in Solihull?
You can ask to see Mr Metcalfe wherever you live in the UK. Your GP may need to widen the consultant search distance on their system. Patients travel to Spire Parkway from across the UK and abroad.
Will I have to pay anything?
No. Under Choose & Book your treatment is provided free of charge on the NHS, but delivered in a private hospital by a consultant who is a recognised expert in the field.
I'm unsure about asking my GP.
You have a right to ask to be treated by the consultant of your choice. Most GPs understand that patients often research their condition and have a clear preference for who provides their care.
I need some advice first — who do I speak to?
Anne, our practice manager, is happy to answer questions before you speak to your GP. Contact the clinic and she'll call you back.
